Miter angle chart
Are you using a table saw or a sliding compound miter saw (SCMS)? For a 5° taper on a four-sided box: Table Saw - Set the blade at 44.75° and the miter gauge at 85°. SCMS - Set the blade angle at 44.75° and the bed (table) angle to 5°. This will give you a box that tapers at 5° from bottom to top.

I wouldn't trust them. They are plastic and will break at some point with no indication they are about to fail. Not the case with the common web mesh straps.

Miter angle chart
Good morning Jim, I am an amature/novice woodworker and have been looking into making a wooden flower box. However, every article I have read talks about cutting a miter into the beveled edge of the boards/slats that make up the sides of the planter. Unfortunately, no explanation is provided as to how this is done. If it is not too lengthy can you provide an explanation, or suggest some reading material where this explanation may be provided. Thank you.

I’m worried about Forrest saw blades
> What is it about brand loyalty or seeking the best saw blade? All saw blades are about the same given equality in tooth count and kerf thickness. The difference lies in the cutting edge as received from the factory. After a year in the shop all blades will dull and thereafter the quality of the cut depend on your saw sharpening service. What you buy is the initial sharpening. After that it's usage and the saw shop's expertise and care that makes the different between a good saw blade and one that's not so good. (Forrest Addy) [link]
