Saw Blade Sharpening?

#1

Forrest closed their shop here in NJ, so I'm looking for a sharpening firm that knows their stuff here in NJ.  Anyone know of such a rarity?

TIA

Bill Tindall always used to recommend sending blades to MisenHeimer.  Shipping is getting pretty steep though.

You could also mail them to Forrest in MA, always an option.

I still have my two usual sharpening shops "locally" -- one in Albuquerque and one in El Paso.  Two hour drives to town are the norm around here, so local means something different.  The one I used to use in Tucson is long closed however.  The shop I worked for there - more than 20 years ago - had a service they used with no storefront.  They picked up and delivered to the local woodworking shops.  I bet there are outfits like that in your area as it makes sense when the customers are mostly industrial.

It's probably been 30+ years since I've been there and I see they are still in business.  You might want to visit them and try them out.

Thanks Woody, and Tom.
I already contacted the guy in Clifton.  Seemed a bit brusk.
Will check out the  folks in Middlesex (30 miles closer @ $4.30)

Just dropped off two blades at Sharp Rite in Middlesex.  Guy's busy but I'm not in a rush.  Pick them up in a week.
