Do you have a favorite hammer?

Hammers are like women........they come and they go.......some have features you like........and some have features you don't like........and some are too expensive to acquire.......like TS.
I do. A no longer made Stanley 13 oz, curved claw, with a metal handle and rubber grip. I've had it for over 60 years. It just feels right in the hand, and has enough heft for nails up to about 16d.
I have two. The first one is an out of production RIDGID RH18 Robo Hammer. At one time, RIDGID offered this hammer in both a right hand and left handed grip model. I have the right handed version and it fits nicely in my hand. The other is a no name 12oz ball pein hammer. I've had it so long that I'm on my second handle.
I have a few.
First one was my Grandfathers Eastwing 16 oz curved claw with leather grip. I use it more in wood working projects now than construction.
Second on was my dads Eastwing 16 oz curved claw with rubber grip. I still use it for construction.
Third is my 16 oz Eastwing straight claw with rubber grip. It rings like a tuning fork when you hit a nail, so I always know who is using it.
I bought two of those martinez heads. Great service. I hope to have the time next winter to machine do dahs to attach them to wooden handles. Just because. There is a lot of magic material science going into this field. I used to make golf clubs, so I saw the earth open up to the opportunity to rip of carpenters, in the post Big Bertha world. They exist for the same reason we can only get 100K pickup trucks.
My work demands a lot of hammers in different weights. I don't have any favourites as such. I just don't like using more weight than I have to to drive pins, trenails, wedges, chisels etc. I have one small Warrington pin hammer that I inherited. For some reason my grandfather always shortened his handles. The other was stolen. THAT was a favourite. His apple headed mallet also disappeared some time ago. Apple is much better than beech.
I've broken a few handles over the year's gluing with hide glue. Time is not on your side when driving trenails.
I do prefer the balance of Japanese hammers. Dont like claws that much unless i really need one. I do want to get a copper headed Thor brand hammer. Expensive.
But great for driving framing chisels and tapered pin's.

I would never let Miley Cyrus lick my hammer. She doesn't know where it's been and her tongue isn't big enough to wrap around my sledge anyway.
Besides, my tools create Art, not debase it.
They must still sell hammers as loss leaders at home depot because Miley has very low expectations. Taylor Swift goes to Miley for scissors I'm reliably informed. I'm not sure how often she blunts them on the rock.
