Gifts from Japan

#1

My daughter came back yesterday and brought a few items.
I got a:
- local newspaper
- a 300 gram paperweight with a hole in it
- a pointy object, 15mm wide, that excels at cutting wood but might be too fragile for opening paint cans
- what appears to be an oversized swizzle stick
-  a small shopping bag?

How cool is that.

I have no idea what any of that is, except for what appears to be a chisel. And I lived outside Tokyo for a bit back in the nineties.

The dark item on the left is a hammer/mallet head.......and, I assume, someone is trying to suggest that you make a handle for that hammer head from that section of wood limb.......

Good score, Mark! If I ever get to Tokyo I know that place is going to be on the itinerary. Wow, talk about a candy store.

Nice! If you need advice for turning that swizzle stick into a handle for the hammer I highly recommend visiting Stan Covington's web site (Covington and Sons). He has a good set of instructions for making a traditionally shaped handle.
