I wish you the best of luck with that. I had both eyes done last year and I went from having to wear glasses to not having to wear glasses.
@Dave's Not Here, Thanks, your wishes may have paid off. They approved it, and I should be able to get it scheduled before the end of the year. Yay.
@admin,
Had both my eyes done about two years ago. GREAT!!!
20/20 in both eyes. No more glasses!
Here's hoping yours are, too.
You'll be able to see Taylor more clearly with that big ole football player she's been entertaining..........
Peter, all the best for a good outcome. That is the case for most people.
I finished the process in mid-January. I opted for the LALs (Light Adjustable Lenses)- a relatively new type of lens which is supposed to be latest & greatest. I'm not happy with the result and DON'T RECOMMEND them. Besides the long process (surgeries and multiple adjustments) and out-of-pocket COST (more than double or triple the other options) I was disappointed with the end result. I'm probably going to have to go back to progressive lenses to compensate for blurriness at different distances, especially for driving.
Not to worry, I'm sure the VA wouldn't cover the cost of LALs.
@roger lance, She's just sowing her seeds and hundreds of millions of dollars with boy toys, and it won't be long before she writes another song about how her heart was broken again. Eventually she will settle down with me when her looks fade and she needs someone to manage all the money.

@Tom Gall, Thanks. I asked about the newer lenses, and the doc said she got them and didn't recommend them either. Her husband went the route of regular mono lenses, different in each eye so he would not need reading glasses, and he's happy with the result.
She also said I would be limited to the more common lenses, not the newer ones, so you are correct about that.

I'm reminded of that ancient Oriental proverb......"He that soweth last is probably not sowing the best.".......
