6" lathe spindle extenders

I have searched the internet and can find only 3". My fellow turner has a 6" on his 3520b. I saw it and he can't remember where he bought it. It would be very handy in use with my Flute Master jig. So, if anyone may know a supplier your info will make fluting technique so much easier. Thanks

He did, but dropped off the grid several years ago. He had some good products when he was active. Packard has the 3" but I need a 6"

I found the 12” version of Don Pencil’s extender at Woodcraft (Seattle) a few years ago. Glad I got it - it’s perfect for buffing.

I thought Harvey Fein was marketing some tools for his spiral fixture that used a long extension, but can't find it right away on Google searches. Maybe it will jog someone's memory.

I have the 3", 8", and 12" extenders which I use for buffing. The 8" had threads that got worn and essentially stripped out. I tried to get another through Don Pencil, but found out that the 8" length was no longer available at that time. I liked the 8" length because the 12" is best suited to larger bowls. Perhaps someone knows whether aluminum threads can be "restored" when they are stripped. For really large bowls I resort to using an electric drill to mount the Beall buffs, but the drill does not spin fast enough to buff well.

If they are quality extensions and run true...... 2x - 3" = 6".

What are we talking about here? I have an adapter that is a No. 2 Morse taper Male on one end and female on the other. I would have to measure it, but it's about 8" long. Can't remember where I got it, but as I recall several lengths were available and easy to come by.

Check at a parts or industrial supply for HeliCoil Helical Coiled Wire Inserts and see if they may have the size you need.

If I can get it I want both ends threaded. 1 1/4 female x 1/8 male threads to use on my 3520b, or 1x8 female by 1x8 male for use on my Jet 1221. I don't plan to use for turning, just to use with the Flutemaster. Sorry I wasn't clear.
