I only got about 90 seconds of video. Is this the '2 ways to turn a bowl' demo that they do? It is very entertaining. Not sure I agree about the pull vs push cut part though.... I guess it depends on how you do the cuts. The comment that Stuart makes about the push cut being more difficult because if you push too hard, it starts to bounce is right on though.

Didn't realize that was just a preview. Apparently you have to get the whole video somewhere else. They did it for the AAW symposium so maybe I can find it on that website. I'll look later.

Not sure if it is up on the internet, but they do have a video of it. Their method for turning out the inside is pretty much identical. I really should show them how to use scrapers some time...

The video was done at an AAW event and the quality of the production is poor. You cant see or hear what they are doing much of the time. It is a great show if you ever can see it in person.

Saw both Stuart and Mike do this duo bowl competition about 10 years ago at the Desert Round Symposium up in Mesa, AZ, incredible entertaining and something to be seen! Stuart twice has recently been to the Adirondack Woodturners Association (home of Totally Turning) in the last 6 months instructing, doing club demos, promoting his 40/40 grind and the push cut, he is definetly convincing and all business.

I saw this show in person in Provo in 2005. It really is an entertaining show. What is amazing is the beautiful bowls they produce in a very short time. Different approaches with nearly the same result. As far as seeing what the push and pull cut can do, I always refer to those I mentor your videos on the subject. Great stuff, Lyle.

Very instructive but to short after I watched it right next to it on utube an other tubeee thing by Stuart Batty very invormative on how a gouge cuts a little long but I thought it was worth it.Just my opinion Art
