It sounds to me like you're talking about Abranet.

It's a mesh material with grit bonded on it.

The sanding residue goes right through the holes rather than clogging.

I like it, but it's expensive, and I have found them to be rather fragile -- perhaps better used by hand rather than power sanding.

Astradot. Got some once, didn't like it at all. Very slow cutting in the coarser grits. The blue discs from Vince are much better.

HI Garry. Actually, it's Astrodot. But Robo Hippy doesn't like them. I always did. But I'll look into what Robo says.

I guess we should have been more clear. It is Vinceswoodnwonders.com as George put up the links. His blue discs just keep on sanding. I use a crepe rubber bar to clean the disc after using and it's amazing how much life I get out of them.

What I like about the blue discs is the film backing and ability to use dry or wet. I usually use the finer grits for wet sanding.
