>This is my latest, finished yesterday. It has a butternut base. The large rings are cherry and the accent ring is purpleheart. It is 6" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter. Finish is 16 coats of wipe on satin poly and then waxed and buffed.

This piece is a 50th wedding anniversery present for my inlaws in England. I am taking it there on Sunday and will be there until the end of October to make sure they display it in the proper place in their house.

That is one of the nice things about doing the "minis". The material investment is very small and if I really mess it up then not much is lost.

This is my first bowl. It was turned from a downed maple tree in my yard. I haven't finished the bottom yet - didn't know how to when I turned it.






Here are my 3 latest attempts. The cherry & spalted bowls still have to have the foot finished off & more finish added to them.

I'm happy with my progress so far - If I could get more shop time I would be further along.
