New Lacquered Bowl PIC
Mark Kauder, Phenix City, AL
>Here is a bowl I have been working on for the last 6 weeks.
It is 9" in diameter. The black wood is ebonized Walnut, the other woods are Maple and Cocobolo. The finish is Deft lacquer. No grain filler was used - just layer upon layer of lacquer sanded until smooth. I sanded the wood to 400 grit, and then sanded the laquer with up to Micromech 8000, then polished with 3M Finess-it. I then coated it with Muguiers Carnuba (car) wax.
Sure is tough to photograph something this shiny.
Any an all critiques are appreciated. How else do we get better.
