>This odd lot just went for nearly $200. I don't think the slick would likely bring that (at least without more info), and I don't see anything else exciting right offhand, so I wonder about that little bench plane on the far right of these photos - maybe a #1 or a #2? I wrote the seller in the closing hour, to ask about it, but didn't hear back in time, and thus didn't bid ... Are any of our folks here the buyer 'djb728,' or does anyone know (or suspect, I ain't picky) anything?

>Hard to say, at least for me, since the pics are so dark. If I had to guess I'd say that is was a #2, and if it's not broken than that alone was worth the $197. Shouldn't have much problem selling the rest off for $197 and getting the plane for free. hopefully somebody who knows how to brighten up pics will do so, and break all our hearts.

>I'm no expert, but you can see the plane's not much bigger than a floppy disk (left side of photo). I've never seen a #1, but a floppy disk is pretty small.......

another picture attempt

>Brightening X65 with -10 of contrast, cropping, and X2 in size gives me this. I cropped to leave enough other tools around for possible scaling. Also, it helps sharpen the view of the plane in question to not crop too close.

It's the best I can do. You can't process pixels that aren't there. I use PaintShop Pro. Hope this helps.

>Looks to me to be about the same length as the block plane just northeast of it (on the other side of that stick, or level, or whatever it is). Wouldn't that make it a No. 1?

Whatever, someone got a really valuable shingling hatchet with the rare friction-tape-grip handle (there at the left).

>You people suck why do you have to show me that? I don't need to see people getting free #1's Heck I could have sold that big chisel to Todd O and made close to half of my money back.

>The plane is definitely longer than the block plane, so I would say it is a number 2, plus it is about the same length as the hatchet. A #1 is tiny by comparison. The guy is lucky to have gotten that much with those lousy pics; not sure what people are thinking when they post a pic like that on ebay. I don't feel too bad about missing it; I have a #2 that only cost me $165 ;)

I think that it was a No1, Clay

>I've cut and pasted a portion of the rule in the photo - shows 6" approx length
