Todd O. Cronkhite Native of Maine

>when I was growing up in Maine it was cutomary that if you went to the dump and found something you wanted that you'd ask the dump manager, Ol' Henry in this case how much he wanted for it. Yup, that's right, we'd pay to haul stuff off from the dump. Henry wasn't paid much by the town to run the dump, but he did alright for himself via his sales, which where always just a $1 or 2. Henry would even pick good stuff out and toss it in a special pile which was always being searched thru by almost every male dump goer.

I remember once Dad went to the hardware to store to find something which he had been searching for, but was having no luck. The fellow behind the counter asked Dad if he had tried the dump yet.

Also the Town Dump was quite the social gathering place. Folks would meet up with friends that they hadn't seen in years and get caught up. Local politics where hotly argured at the dump as well. It was stated many a' time that the town dump was the best meeting hall in town, and more problems got solved there than in any official meeting.

Lord, how I miss going to the Dump :~(, but I'm still a trash picking fool! :~)

My long lost twin!!

>Of course we`d be twin sons of different mothers.

I too have been known to spirit away totaled furniture only to make it reappear later in the day sans hardware. Why just today I brought home the fractured top of a trashed table just for the hinges.

People have been telling me for years that I sometimes act alittle French,it all makes sense now.;^)

I guess I`ll see you at the next family reunion,Kevin.BTW-how many tattoos do ya have?I don`t want my new bro bumpin` me out of the competition at the reunion.I`ve held the title for too long to let it go now.

Mainely,Bob

PS-Bring those boxes of hardware,it`ll give us something to do during the slack time between the three legged race and the egg toss.
