You can't afaik. It's possible to write a script that would extract all printable metadata (there are tons of non-printable entities) or maybe just the properties you're interested in and then maybe insert it in a particular location in a document. Could be done by someone with enough determination, but would also open a door to a world of problems you didn't even think were possible.

But I can't remember anything in WordPerfect itself that would do it — it's called "meta"-data for a reason.

That's about the conclusion I reached. In the context of a document being evidence, as to when it was created, modified, etc., it looks like all I can do in take a photo of the dialog box. A digital copy of the document would carry the data, but then you need a computer running WP to access and display it.

If you have Windows 10 use the Snipping Tool program provided with the Windows System. It is also present on some earlier releases of Windows.

Don't know what's the context here, but forensics utilities can extract this type of metadata from a variety of file formats, there might some free software that could do it and that doesn't require WP installed. But if this is just so you could show this data to someone (vs being able to process it or maybe automate a workflow in WP) - a screenshot is the easiest way.

If you know for sure that nobody was tampering with a file and you only interested in creation & modification dates and owner\last user — that could be inspected with a standard utility `dir` and maybe `icacls` (I assume you're on Windows?) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/icacls

These utilities work in a terminal, but its output is copy-pasteable and it can be run on a bunch of files.

You're way over my head vis-a-vis computer tech.

I just took a cell phone pic of the display box and sent it as a jpeg. That appears to have satisfied. I can, of course, make a copy of the file with the meta included if they really want to fuss about it.

Now back to W o o o o o D!

I think Mark was actually referring to the markup codes that WordPerfect displays. It was a great system that really allowed one to get formatting exactly as desired as you could see what the program was doing. It was not wysiwyg.

Also, I will probably have nightmares now that you have reminded me of the existence of forensic computer programs. Discovery sucks rocks.

I remember WordStar had similar visible codes (typically control key codes) to get the various formatting. For a while WordStar was one of the premier word processors before WYSIWYG took off. The big feature for me was the ability to automatically created a TOC and Index with page numbers. Man, we used it to write specs for computer systems for our power plants - nuke and fossil.
