At middle age, I don't do that, so fair chance I have no idea how to set chrome to deal with passwords correctly, but...
...what chrome will do is see a page that it thinks is a different format or different area and ask you over and over if you want it to remember a password. Wood central and some other sites trip it up, and I do allow it to remember passwords sometimes, and other times not. At any rate, the result is that it will think that some threads are deserving of their own password (despite the password being the same for all of them) and make a list in its password manager of 6 or 8 different entry points.
