My good friend is a vise collector *LINK*

He and I talk about the postings on Facebook Marketplace all the time. Things like radio arm saws, ban saws, vices, etc....

But for your tail vise question, I really only use my tail vise for the bench dogs. I wouldn't care to use the Lee Valley bench dog with the threaded rod with the flip handle as a replacement. But lots of ideas out there on inventions to move one bench dog. Something like this is a very good option.

Now that looks like an inexpensive and workable solution!

It is not a difficult project to add a tail vise. It all depends on the design of the bench and the style of tail vise you want to add. What type of vise? Do you have the vise? What does your bench look like?--all important questions.

Most of us woodworkers have some vices.

I have found it more enjoyable to be a vice collector even though it is probably more expensive in the long run. ;-)

Why can't you be both? :)

IIRC, our friends on the other side of the pond spell both avocations the same way.

Once again, I'm confused. Are we assigning pronouns here? I need Jim Matthews to come by and deliver a tart remark.

To keep them straight:

Jim Matthews

You desire is the one with a "C".

Usage requires the "S".

Now, I'm confused, too. Vise and vice, no matter which meaning is applied, are nouns, not pronouns. There is also a meaning of vise that is a verb.
