I failed to chamfer the front edge of the Console I am building for my son. (Who knew he had such an eye for detail?)

I think I need a chamfer bit that will cut a 60* bevel. I looked on Google and found one by Amana for about $106 and one form Yonico for about $15. Both have 1/2" shanks. I would rather have one with a 1/4" shank which may be a "miniature".

This is funny, I know Amana but would not want to pay that much for something I will use for about five minutes. OTOH, never heard of Yonico and am scared of a REALLY cheap bit. Too far into this project to start over. Any suggestions?

Try Eagle. Been really happy with their bits. You don't need a production quality bit like Amana. A friend gave me a set of really cheap bits from the dollar store. I've actually tried a couple. Seemed okay, but like you I wouldn't trust them for anything important. I've also had a moderately priced bit with orange paint, shatter. Check out Eagle.

Try MLCS. They have 1/4" 3-wing chamfer bits for $13-$24. Shipping is free. I've used them for my seldom-used bits and they are completely satisfactory for small runs.

I'm a died in the power tool guy, but for a one-off like this, definitely hand tools.
