Clamps?

>I have seen some clamps used by a particular Yankee and I can't seem to find them. They look like they have the handle of a pair of Vice Grips but they have a bar to extend their grip. Does anyone know what they are/where to find them? Do they work as well as they seem to on TV? Thanks in advance. -Nick

I bought this in a package deal of clamps from a friend when he was getting out of ww'ing; I wondered if I'd every use it. I love them. It's basically a C clamp with vise grip action, and deep reach. I love them.

I use them on my drill press, tablesaw and for clamping stock to my workbench. What I really like about them is that they're easy to set with one hand and they don't vibrate loose when using them to hold stock for a jigsaw or router - as some of my quick-action clamps have done.

>These look an awful lot like some of the welding clamps I have. I did a goggle search for Vise Grip welding clamps. I found several styles that appear similar for prices from $11 to $28. May not have all the features of the Bessy's but may be ok.

>Sorry The catalog I got the # is a couple years old. I also have probably have 15 of the ones that Henry has, I really like them also, they are great for that special time. I don`t know what happened, but who ever owns vise-grip now decided that the clamp I mentioned was to good, so they had to get rid of them. I`ll keep looking. Larry

I haven't seen that model on dealers' shelves in a few years.
A while back, I had my local hardware order a few of the locking clamps for me. Even though he carried a large selection of the Vise Grips locking pliers, he needed to order those as --in his words-- they were a "hard sell." Probably the same thing applied to the model that you want.
