cyclone installation w/low ceiling help!
Phil in NJ
>I have installed a 2hp Oneida cyclone in my basement. The ceilings are low, so I got the component model that has the shortest height requirement.
To install it, I had to put the motor in between ceiling joists. The best location for it seemed to be under the basement stairs.
So, I do have 1-2" of ventilation all around the motor.
BUT, it is very hard to get at the motor. And if the motor ever
sparks, perhaps it could start a fire, and/or if a spark in the
drum catches, a fire is right under the basement stairs... the
only way out of the basement.
I feel like I'm being paranoid! But I don't want to start running
ductwork until I finalize the collector location.
Thanks for any advice!
