Router spiral jig

Jeff Spirer

>Hi all

Sorry for no picture (haven't figured that out yet).

I found a router jig for making flutes and spirals on wood legs.

Kind of like a Legacy, but alot simpler.

Has 4 5ft long chrome pipes, cast end supports, a router mount, and a crank arrangement that will pull the router and turn the leg.

The only maker mark is an AC on it.

Anyone have any info or knowledge of this jig.

Seems easy to operate, but I haven't really played with it yet.

Can't have been too many manufacturers of these things.

Do you happen to have the instructions, and could I pay you to send me a copy?

>Jeff,

A Google search {"Router Crafter" instruction manual} led me to a site with the following information:

That tool was born a Router Lathe by Trend.

http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/routerlathe/

Sears bought the US rights to it.

A manual can be viewed here:

http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/library/Instruction_Manuals/Routerlathe.pdf

Hope this gets you going.

The manual is listed near the bottom of the page.

Instructions no longer available

Jeff Spirer

>Al

A search on Trend's site and Sear's site turned up nothing.

Sears says no longer available.

Trend's just doesn't come up.

Hopefully someone here has one they can copy for me.

Thanks for the help.

>Go here:

http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/libfiles/library.html

Click on "Instruction Manuals". About halfway down the list on the left-hand column.

Click on the word "Manuals".

Scroll down to "Routerlathe.pdf" near the bottom of the list.

You can either left click (and wait while wondering if anything is happening) or right click and select "save target as" and see the progress. Either choice will work. I now have two copies of the instruction manual.

>Al

That's what I did.

I tried again just as you said.

I think that maybe my computer is the problem, not the site.

Or me (my computer skills need alot of work).

I'll have to ask my computer expert for help.

Thank you for your patience and help.

(A PS: I also think I drive my brother crazy sometimes when we try to send stuff to each other on the net.)
