Why is it

Larry in NW Ohio

>That when you, at least me, you go through magazines and you see something and you lay it down and after awhile, days maybe, and then you want that article back you just cann`t find it. In the last two months I saw two articles on putting up crown molding and one had a very nice jig to cut it, of course the one I have with one of the articles is the one that dosen`t have the jig, Wood-issue 174-Dec-Jan. 2006-2007. I`m looking for the other magazine. One thing that really makes it worse is I started to mark down interesting articles I want to keep in a notebook, yes you guessed it I can`t find it either. Welcome to my world. Did anyone see the other article I`m talking about? If you did I`d appriciate if you would say where you see it. Thank You. Larry in NW Ohio

>after so many years of collecting great articles, plans and tips it becomes to big to manage and that notebook is as valuable as a Rosetta stone.

I recently decided to scan all the good articles into pdf's. most magazines other than wood smith or shop notes contain 50 pct ads.

90 pct of it is just re-hashed stuff and the more you do in ww the more boring most become.

until I find some free software to magazine the files an add searching ability I just place them in folders and names them well.

anyway,it going to take a long while to go through them all. I have really started buying good reference books more than magazines.

I only pick up a magazine if i really like whats in it.a plan or a technique but not based on any subscription or customer loyalty. I don't think I fit there targeted audience.

I am even just scanning furniture adds when some detail catches my eye.

I even have borrowed some neat ides from shop shots :)
