Chico - You Have Extraordinary Taste

Howard In Toronto

>Thank you for sharing your photos.

What about a photo tutorial? Hmmmm?

Sensational, sensitive interpretation of G&G touches; they're one of my favourite exponents of A&C. Great choice of A&C-style typeface.

>Thanks Howard!

I just came down with some really nasty chest infection as well as the discovery of diabetese within 12 hrs. after I put the door posting on the board.

Howard, the design of this door is not that special. You can see many similar G&G designs. I initially proposed tapered inside edges of the stiles, but clients preferred square look.

Thanks again.

>Hi Paul,

Thanks. I think the door itself is 200 lbs. Each side is 140 or so??? They'll be much heavier with the double-pane stained glass, measuring 3/4" thickness.

>Nice project. Although IMHO the cat thing takes away from the elegance and is a bit kitchy. But I guess the customer is king, to bad they make us do things like that.

>your other work is just average.

What a beauty, Chico. You're in for a lot of fun, but be aware that she will grow up too fast; so make the most of every precious minute. DAMHIKT.

Sweet!

Martina

>WOW!!! And looking forward to seeing the door with the glass in!

Know what you mean about the hardware,.. it should maybe have been one of those long latch type handles that are from the arts and crafts period,... but of course, I'm betting that wasn't your choice.

Its such a gorgeous heavy door that gorgeous heavy hardware should have gone on it. Maybe your clients will go for it later. :-)

VERY nice work and very inspiring!! Thanks for posting the pics!!
