Why we let users speak freely

WoodCentral.com is a community built by woodworkers for woodworkers. Most of the content here comes directly from our readers: forum posts, comments, and shared projects. We believe in giving people a voice without heavy interference.

We do not pre-approve or heavily edit posts. This approach helps keep discussion authentic, spontaneous, and useful to everyone. It also means that we are not acting as a “publisher” of the content—you are posting your own thoughts, and we are simply providing a platform.

Limited moderation:
We do, however, step in for extreme situations, such as:

  • Illegal content (for example, child sexual abuse material)
  • Direct threats or calls to violence
  • Spam, malware, or other clearly harmful material

Removing such content is rare and only done to keep the site safe for all users. Aside from these exceptions, posts remain visible as submitted.

Why this matters:
By leaving most content untouched, we protect the openness of the community while still providing a safe space. You can trust that your voice will be heard, and that the platform is focused on fostering genuine woodworking discussion, not controlling it.

Your responsibility:
Remember, content posted here is the responsibility of the person who posts it. We encourage everyone to be respectful, honest, and helpful.
