The Wheelchair Woodworker My favorite place to hangout is my wood shop. My passion is making unique walking canes from exotic hardwoods from around the world. I also use the same unique woods to create pens, jewelry & music boxes, toys and some furniture. I love using contrasting woods with lots of grain and natural imperfections. Woodworking started out as a form of therapy after I was in a serious motorcycle accident on July 4th, 2008 outside Greely, CO. I broke 16 bones and spent 6 weeks on Life Support and the next year in and out of hospitals. In Jan 2013 I lost my left leg to Osteomyelitis, a serious bone infection as a result of the accident. Today I understand the value of a strong family, the meaning of true friendships and the power of prayer.
