Hi, I'm a 56 year old retired Detroit Fire Fighter. ( I was injured on the job, had several operations and forced to retire on a Duty Disability) Back in my college days, I attended Western Michigan University and was well on my way to getting a degree in Industrial Education. (woodshop and drafting) My senior year while I was home for the summer I answered an ad for a Firemen's job in Detroit. Close to 4000 people took the test at Cobo Hall and I never figured that they would call me. Low and behold I made it into the first class. I quit school and never looked back. I now often think about finishing and getting my degree but that would take to much time away from turning. I have a wonderful woodshop about 20 miles from my home. I am into green bowl turning, boxes and soon segmented. I recently sold a very old Delta/Milwaukee lathe and replaced it with a Powermatic 3520A. (I love It)
