I started turning in the early 40s to get the Woodturning Boy Scout merit badge. Those first turnings were made under my grandfathers tutelage on a small lathe that he had made. Did a little bit more turning in junior high school and then a long dry spell until I was given a mini-lathe as a birthday present in 2001 or 2002. It is has been all downhill since then. :o)
