I'm George Troy Hurlburt from Central KS. I have been woodturning since 1980. Went to a lot of seminars to work on my skills in the 80's. Lessons from many of the pros you have heard or seen. To mention a few Dale Nish, Rudy Olsnick, Liam O'Neal,Del Stubbs and many others. Some of the lessons were in Arrowmount, at their studios, and Provo. I did the Renaissance Festivals in Bonner Springs, KS, Scarbough Fair, Waxahachia, TX, Colorado Renaissance, Larkspur, CO. I have a great shop in the country.I have the top brands of Lathes - Robust, Powermatic, Vicmarc,Nova and others. My last lathe purchase was the Robust in 2006. For the last 3 years I have not done much. With a new hip April 1st, 2014, I'm back in action again. I do all forms of woodturning such as natural edge bowls, segmented bowls and vases, goblets, plates, platters, boxes and etc. Some of the surfaces are woodburned or carved. I have a art gallery I sell to in the area and have for the last 20 years. No more craft shows, I did 100 of those in the early years, not easy to compete with the dollies and crate craft. My learning processes never stops, never out of ideas. My biggest regret about woodturning is it takes away from wife time. Not so bad when she was working. We have been retired 15 years. I also paint, woodburn and carve in the house to be with her. Lucky man here my hands are still rock steady. I also keep in shape by working out and golfing. If you want to get better you have too spend the time, take lessons and join your local woodturning club
