I retired from Bendix Heavy Vehicle Systems Group in '96 as an engineering designer/draftsman. One long time hobby has been photography where I attempted to reach the level of Fine Art black and white photography. Then came a kitchen remodel where I made all of the cabinets while working full time.  Always had a hankering to turn on a lathe even tho I had exactly no experience and hadn't even seen much turning. Eventually survived my early attempts to cut using the wrong tool on dry white oak...became a member of the North Coast Wood Turners where I am a life member altho have been unable to attend meetings for the last couple of years due to wife's poor health.  I turn mostly bowls but other stuff as well. I just happen to really enjoy the front end of the process from cutting up the log to rough turning the blanks.
