I too first calculated it as 2+1+1+7=11

After my fist dope slap for missing the "x", I took another wrong turn that you avoided, calculating (2+1+1)x4=28. No, there were no parentheses in the picture, and I know full well the proper order of calculation, so I administered another dope slap!

2+1+1x7=10
