Friday Puzzler -- Jane

Alex Y

I have personally met Jane. She was born on the first Sunday of the year, and her seventh birthday was also on a Sunday.

In what year was Jane born?

P.S., no trickery in the language here. By "7th Birthday", I mean the 7th anniversary of her birth, the day she attained age 7.

How about 1997. I don't think Alex could have met Jane in 1897.

Ed is correct

Jane was my grandmother, who I knew as a young child.

Larry, 1997 doesn't work. 2000 was a leap year.

Rule is every 4 years except multiples of 100 that are not also multiples of 400.
