I agree, now that you remind me.
Mr. Google says this, when I enter 'repeating decimal notation' :
Recurring Decimal. A decimal number with digits that repeat forever. The part that repeats can also be shown by placing dots over the first and last digits of the repeating pattern, or by a line over the pattern.
And in the illustration that accompanies this entry it calls the line a "bar".
