The first three came quickly, but Thomas and Boswell rattled around in my brain at idle moments with 'almost' words appearing at random times. Mark Twain's saying that he had to "respect a man who could spell a word more than one way" came to mind more than once. Then one of the names resolved itself with a loud noise and a blast of air.

I agree that last one was hard to see.
I thought "Cornelus" was the hardest -- "reclusion" is not a word I use every day, although the meaning is clear.
Another anagram of "Daniel" is "denial"
