Here in Mount Level we have had a typical spring....cold and rainy followed by immediate heat....very little in between. Today looks like a scorcher. I'd better post some trivia before I become overcome by the heat!
So here we go....who is the guy in the picture? There are some clues there.
Was he a small boat builder too or

was he a shoemaker. Two possibles in my mind. One a recognized name today and the other might remind you of fishing.

I was looking at the chairs. My choices were Gil Gilpatrick and/or L.L. Bean. The former made his name building strip canoes, and Bean made rubber and leather boots and other outdoors stuff. Both however made/sold snowshoe chairs which is the direction I headed.

You are correct sir! The person in the picture is Wharton Esherick taken in 1940. The support for the table in the picture would have been another clue as that design showed up in his later work.
