Thursday trivia

Dale Lenz

I'm still on drugs from my "piece of cake surgery" piece of cake my a**, it's what I call Dale's luck.

Anyway, I was called out many moons ago to look at his 3-leaf ash tree. Knowly, there was no tree "properly" call a 3- leaf ash, what do you think I found?

The tree turned out to be a box elder, only time in my career I've heard of it called a 3-leaf ash. Believe I've read it in a book once or twice since then. Box elder grows near creeks as does poison ivy and other places. Everytime I see what I believe is a small box elder brush, I'll look for opposite branching to be sure. If I can not tell the branching pattern for sure, I won't touch it.

Thanks to all that played.
