On a tree seedling spacing of 9' X 9' how many trees/ac. are there?

Assuming a 76% survival how many tree/ac will you have? What is the new average spacing on a square grid?

I'm not at all sure of my logic or math

Gary Smyth

I get 538 trees in your acre

76% is 409 trees

new spacing is 10 feet

or still nine feet but 129 non growing trees

43560 sq.ft/ac/(9x9) = 537.XX. etc. Good Job, Gary! Thanks to the other's that played as well. Dale

Huh??????

Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level

Why 538 if 129 did not grow to be trees? I used 408 but did not round my number to 409. So how am I wrong?
