I'm not sure where you want to go on this
Gary Smyth
the style is French and the shape/form starts with an "r". The "table" is a desk or when used with a mirror a ladies catch all and starts with a "p". The name comes from what used to be (who knows, might still) a ground up mixture of manure and gypsum.

You may be onto it with the "P".

I think Gary has it...Answer
Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level
Gary knows the name in conjunction with the knowledge that a mirror folds up in the middle....thus making the piece a Poudresse.
Well done sir!

Poudresse is what I
Gary Smyth
had in mind. The shape/form is reniform. And the mixture I mentioned is powder (ladies dressing table) where the original word can be used as a fertilizer and other stuff people use (I suppose) to make things beautiful. Poudre in French is powder.
