Oak platforms found near a tree by three boys in 1795 has led to ruination, death, frustration. The boys quit after digging the area finding indications of wealth and an additional three wooden platforms. About 1800 other adventurers found at least six more Oak platforms at the same location.. By that time the frustration was immense because the platforms were in a shaft and the shaft flooded each time they stopped for the day. The lure of what is at the bottom of the original shaft is enticing to all who made effort as three small gold links were brought to the surface, pieces of what appeared to be a wood chest, and coconut matting of the type that was used to pack ship�s cargo. Over time the shaft has been drilled, enlarged, and paralleled by a separate shaft, some reaching 125 feet. Franklin Roosevelt participated in the venture and lost his investment, and by 1965 some two hundred shafts drilled by others had been drilled. After several deaths in excavating the place lay vacant. On July 15, 2010, what might finally be the last attempt started again. The newest permit expires December 31, 2010. Where is the place? Of what am I speaking?
