Well, my first thought was airplane, but then I decided that the wood sections looked too heavy.

If your reply included a hidden clue, maybe a rail car?

If I am right, his model from the early 70s had radiator problems in the summers of the SE US, which are significantly hotter than the climate of Malvern, Worcestershire, England.
