extra puzzle

Here is an extra one, since I believe that the other one will be easy for you. (maybe this one will be too ;) )

The words below are out of order. Can you figure out the pattern and put them in the proper order. Hint, The pattern is not a simple alphabetical one.

a.  Leaf
b.  Part
c.  Mitt
d.  Corn

Hi Dan,

If I was going to order these I would choose corn first because you have to have your vegetables to be healthy enough to think. I would choose leaf second because after eating my corn I would start to think about woodturning which is almost always the first thing to come to mind. Third would be saw because my blanks are too big and I would have to saw them to a smaller size. Forth would be part because I need a part for my saw before I could use it. Finally would be mitt because after I get so frustrated with woodturning I would just go upstairs and watch the Women's Softball College World Series. If you ever want to watch something that will restore your faith in pure sports watch this. These players, besides playing extremely hard are also cheerleaders, shoulders to cry on, and excellent sports. Awesome. No big league salaries waiting for these ladies. Pure sport. These are definitely young people who look at the glass as half full not half M. tea!

I've read Jim's answer, but if that gives the intended answer, it went way over my head. What ordering method did you have in mind for these?

when placed with the proper letter, the words either make or sound like another word. For example, put corn with the "a" and get acorn, "b" with leaf gives b-leaf (belief), "C" with saw gives c-saw (seesaw), "D" with part gives d-part (depart), and "e" with mitt gives e-mitt (emit).

Thanks

Don't think I would have ever gotten that one.

Clever.
