In 1890 Charles King invented a tool that was later presented at a prestigious venue. It's a tool commonly used today although not for woodworking. However, there are now small specialized versions that can be used for wood construction applications. What is the tool?

In an effort to air on the side of caution and not to hammer home the point, I'll limit my answer to the part about it being shown at the Chicago Exposition in the early 1890's.

Pneumatic Hammer
Charles Brady King of Detroit invented the pneumatic hammer (a hammer which is driven by compressed air) in 1890, which he patented on January 28, 1894. Charles King exhibited two of his inventions at the 1893 Worlds Columbia Exposition; a pneumatic hammer for riveting and caulking and a steel brake beam for railroad road cars.
