That's not the solution I had in mind, but hopefully he will post the rationale.

Hint

The solution I am looking for requires more out-of-th-box thinking for this sequence than the other two.

Think not of the ordinal numbers themselves, but how they may be used.

The pattern i was thinking of is the opposite faces of a die.. opposite ends of the list added together. A slightly better version of that pattern is this one, which is symmetrical about the mid point. So, 434 is a better pattern than 344

1+6=7

2+5=7

3+4=7

4+3=7

3+4=7

4+3=7

5+2=7

6+1=7

Very good. Nothing in this answer that works only for the related ordinals, but neither is there for the second sequence. For the first sequence and the solution I was thinking of for this one, it is significant to think of the ordinals, not the cardinals.

Another hint

Albeit an oblique one:

Think of a large fruit.

I was thinking pineapple, fibonacci... way off track. I should have been thinking big apple.
