Friday puzzle -- fill in the blanks

Gonna post three "find the pattern" problems. I'm thinking of a solution to each, but it might not be unique--you may find another solution with just as good a rationale.

Complete this sequence by filling in the blanks

8th

5th

1st

___

___

___

7th

6th

Re: Friday puzzle -- fill in the blanks

Ok, got a solution for each sequence, now, how do I avoid spoiling it for others...

The three solutions are ( in no particular order) 7 11 13... 4 9 2... 3 4 4

I'm not going to give away what solution goes with each puzzle.

Regards

Ray

Re: Friday puzzle -- fill in the blanks

You hit on the answer I intended for the first and second puzzle (with the obvious conversion from cardinals to ordinals), and I will be interested in hearing your rationale for the third. Let's wait to see if anyone else wants to chip in first.

8,5,1,____,____,____,7,6 will not create the same pattern, if any.
