Friday puzzle -- Competition for Weight-Watchers?

I just read about a new diet that I may try: scotch and soda.

Take a glass containing 200 grams of scotch and soda, over ice. The scotch and soda will be at about 0o Celsius. When you drink it, your body will raise it to body temperature, 37o Celsius, and in so doing, will expend 37x200 = 7,400 calories.

Calorie books show scotch as having 100 Calories per ounce, and none for soda. So, unless I have done my imperial/metric conversions wrong, I should be able to drink scotch and soda all day and lose weight like crazy.

What do you think? Will it work? Even if I am able to hold down the booze? Why?

I love a good schientific exshperiment!

To test this theory, I cracked open a bottle of Bruichladdich for breakfast. I've been 'snacking' on the Lagavulin ever since. Don't know (care) if I am actualy losing weight, but this is the best diet I have ever tried!

What a great way to kill a calorie. ;-)

This diet unfortunately only works for the young. The older I get the less I can consume. There's gotta be something! But NOT lite beer.
