In 1934 or 1936 (the dates vary by article) a couple walking along a creek bed in the south west U.S. found a �man made� object imbedded in a Cretaceous rock nodule (or an Ordovician or Silurian one, depending on the account, that existed as far back as 300 to 400 million years ago) before man was anywhere near being around. (earliest �man� is now about 6 million years old (Kenya)(Oldest man in what is the U.S. today is, I think, Meadowcroft in PA at about 16,000 years old). Now the item wasn�t completely encased but showed some wood partly showing which is what caused the interest in the first place. The finders collected the item. In 1946-47 the son broke open the nodule and found imbedded a (�probably a ninteenth century�) man made item and in 1983 he sold it. It was purchased by a religious Creationist and he has since that time used the item to �prove� that man was created and not developed as proposed by Darwinists. Since its discovery the item has been subjected to several analyses with the results being interpreted by the owner as non-conclusive to whether the item was two hundred, 700, or over millions of years old. Other scientists using conventional methods now say the rock surrounding the item is 110 to 115 million years old. Modern science has proposed alternative scenarios as to how this could happen but the etiquette of the burden of proof residing with the owner, and his holding closely a complete report of testing results has hampered the truth finding process.
