Tuesday Puzzle
My neighbor remarked that he and his wife have 3 children and the sum of their ages equals the age of his wife. Not only that, but the product of the children's ages is 1200.
How old are the kids if she had her first child at 17 and the third at 32?

The spacing of the first two was "normal", if greater than average. The last was clearly and "oops".

If I'm right, the spacings between successive children are prime.

The age of the middle child is the integer part of the average of the ages of the other two.

and the age of the youngest is the square root of the sum of the ages of the oldest and youngest.
Careless error
caused me to miss the correct answer, then I went off making the puzzle more difficult than it actually was, assuming that age here was the way age was usually referred to, e.g., age last birthday, so allowed for the difference between oldest and youngest ages to be 14 or 16 years, depending on their birthdays compared to that of their mother's and the observation date.

As several have figured out, the answer is 5, 12, and 20 with the mother being 37 years old.
