Thursday Trivia

The attached picture shows several renditions of this design shape. It is sometimes carved in a ribbon or panel, and sometimes is put on top of a structure or item as a sort of crest. What is the shape called?

hint: it is a 4 syllable word ;-)

Re: Thursday Trivia

Those look a lot like acroteria (sinuglar would be acroterium) - but that would be 5 syllables

Not yet (hint)

The first letter is correct;-) The word comes from a Greek word for flower. Seeing the word, one thing that might come to mind from the first part of it is a song.

The first part of the word might bring to mind the Star Spangled Banner. (If you live in the US)
