Humpday Triviola

Boat construction and home building in the Viking times had developed the technique and tradition of combining art with wood working. This culminated in these structures. There are several types of these structures but the common element to all of them is that they have corner-posts and a skeleton or framework of timber with wall planks standing on sills. What structures are these?

Maybe but.....

You are on the right track and perhaps correct but I am not familiar with the barrel aspect. I think you'll need to elaborate a bit more.

Re: Maybe but.....

The principal components of a a barrel include the staves, naturally.

In the United States, a good example of the architecture in question is located in the Norway area of EPCOT, Disneyworld - Orlando.
