Humday Triviola
I'm looking for the name of a tree the wood of which was burnt for perfume or to scent ointment. It was discovered in the upper Sacramento Valley of California by General John Fremont. A very handsome tree, it is rarely found in pure stands, but generally grows intermingled with Ponderosa Pine, Sugar Pine, Douglas fir and White fir. This species ranges from Northern Oregon to Southern California. It is a relatively slow growing tree.

Nope, I cheated and had to look. I recalled that there was a tree that was used for purfume, but couldn't recall what it was so ggogle was my friend.
