Try to keep every other frog a different color, to the extent possible.

And wood related, too

This makes a nice wooden puzzle, with pegs in holes or marbles in "dents" replacing the frogs on lily pads.

Took the day off for some shop time, today. You know how much time I spent jumping frogs, several, several dozen times. Kept using Alex's method of every other color frog, still no go. Went out to the shop and let my mind rest, 3-4x this time got it! My son got it within a few tries, but could not repeat for me or him. Not sure if I can repeat it myself, : ' >. Thanks for the game.

Solution

Do the steps like this, and after each line, look at how the frogs are lined up. That's what I meant by getting as close as possible to every other color.

I really didn't set that up at all, did I? Just assumed everyone was in my head, and went from there! ;-)

Number the lily pads (not frogs) from left to right (or right to left), then move the frog on the lily pads with the numbers given.

Grouping the moves like this will bring out the pattern.

Try this: Where B is brown frog 1,2,3 from left to right. G is green frog number 1,2,3 from left to right. R is rock numbered 1~7 left to right. Obvioulsy, the number line arrow points the direction the frog moves. If you find away to move the frogs backwards, let me know, :"). Hope I got this correct!

Try this in sequence. move the color frog indicated, there will only be one opening for that color frog. You may be jumping an opposite color frog, or just moving to the next rock.

You can also reverse the colors.
