education & self sufficiency?
Ok but.....
you are on the right track but haven't fully answered the question. I'll need more before I can award a Golden Uni.

Swiss Cheese Memory Syndrome(SCMS) Is this the project of Ellis's friend that is teaching indiginous peoples of (Peru?) furniture making skills using traditional tools. Tht object is to allow the natives to become self sufficient.

Vxj (pronounced "VECK-wah" with the "e" short, tending toward a long "a" sound) is in Sweden, southwest of Stockholm. You'll find it about a quarter of the way down the highway toward Helsingborg, located on the strait across from Denmark. A little farther down that highway, you'll also find Markaryd, (pronounced "MARK-uh-Reed") where I still have family.
Aside from having a University, a glassworks, and a really militant sense of environmentalism, I can't think of anything else that would relate closely to this board.
