Despite having tunable strings, this instrument is not musical.

I think I saw one of these (or something very much like it) on Iron Chef. I believe they were making a kind of Pasta.

It is a 'Chitarra' or 'Pasta Guitar' for cutting pasta. These used to be common household kitchen tools in southern Italy.

This is one of three double-sided chitarras that I recently built. One side is for cutting spaghetti, the other for fettuccini.
